Our instruments are rented for a nominal fee only to students of Rose City Music Academy. Please note we do not have a rent-to-own option. Instruments are available for purchase to anyone.
Deposit & Sizing up: Rose City Music Academy will take a check as deposit for the purchase price of the instrument, and will cash the check only in the instance that the renter is more than two weeks late with payment or in any other way breaches the contract. If the renter needs a bigger size at any point, RCMA will happily switch it.
Maintenance and Repair: We provide no maintenance and require the renter to take it to ONLY one of the following shops for all repairs and upkeep: Paul Schuback, David Kerr, Kennedy Violins or Ed Geesman. RCMA requires notification and a copy of any repair invoice. If a violin is damaged to the point that it is irreparable or it is no longer possible to restore it to excellent full value condition, the deposit will be cashed and the renter will then own the violin. Regular maintenance includes yearly purchase of a new set of strings and having them applied at one of the above shops or by an RCMA instructor during lesson time.
