Lisbeth Dreier, violin
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, violinist Lisbeth Dreier has established an active and varied career. She was a member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra for four years as both a section player and acting Assistant Principal Second violin. Prior to Virginia Ms. Dreier lived in New York City, where she performed throughout the tri-state area and toured as concertmaster with the North American production of Wonderful Town.
Summer festivals include Aspen Music Festival, Casalmaggiore International Festival in Italy, Texas Music Festival, Magic Mountain Music Farm, and the AIMS festival in Graz, Austria. She has appeared as a soloist with several orchestras including the Columbia Symphony, and taught at the Oregon Episcopal School, Larchmont Music Academy in New York, and Rose City Music Academy.
Ms. Dreier returned to Portland to play with the Oregon Symphony as an acting member for the 2011/12 season. She is currently a member of the Oregon Ballet Theater orchestra and frequently joins the Oregon Symphony as an extra musician. Ms. Dreier recently began playing Argentine tango music. She often performs with the Alex Krebs sextet at milongas for dancers, and has been featured at Portland Tangofest, Valentango, and the Tango Element Baltimore Festival with vocalist Ariel Ardit, formerly of Orquesta El Arranque.
Ms. Dreier holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
She teaches at the Catlin Gabel School and her home studio for Rose City Music Academy.
